24 Hour Fitness is the largest privately owned and operated fitness center chain in the world. They are currently expanding their locations to the Northeast area of the U.S, including New York. To help attract members to the new gym locations, 24 Hour Fitness teamed up with Derek Jeter from the New York Yankees. The baseball all-star joins an elite group of sport and fitness superstars that partnered with 24 Hour Fitness to create signature clubs, including Andre Agassi, Lance Armstrong, Earvin “Magic” Johnson, Yao Ming, Shaquille O’Neal and Jackie Chan.
As part of the joint venture, Jeter is also an equity partner and has played an active role in the design, look, tone and feel of the new Derek Jeter Signature Sports clubs in New York. The goal behind the Derek Jeter style gyms is to create a gym that is New York-specific and meetsthe needs of the average Joes, not just baseball fans. One of the most distinctive 24 Hour Fitness- Derek Jeter style gyms is located in the SoHo neighborhood which opened earlier this month. This multi-level gym facilty is furnished with the ROC-IT selectorized and plate loaded line, as well as a few select CF units. Also featured are the new ROC-IT selectorized inner and outer thigh machines.
