To perform the Assisted Dipexercise, first select the desired weight based on your body weight and the level of assistance you desire and unfold the kneepad from the stored position. Step up onto the footplates located on the front legs of the machine.
Place your hands on mid-level dip handles of the machine with your choice of wide or narrow grip. While gripping the handles, carefully place your knees on the kneepad one at a time. The kneepad is designed to move so keep knees on the pad and hands on the handles at all times. Your arms should be extended down, but without locking the elbows. In a smooth, controlled motion, lower your body until your arms bend to a 90 degree angle, and then push up to return to the start position. Repeat this movement for the desired number of reps.
If exercising proves too difficult or too easy, increase or decrease the weight load. To adjust the weight, dismount from the machine first. Never attempt to adjust the weight while the machine is in use. Remount as instructed above. Only enter or exit the machine from the start position.
