From Fairway to Fitness: A Golfer’s Journey with HOIST
For years, Mark’s golf game had been steady. He could play a round with friends, keep up on the back nine, and even impress with the occasional long drive. But as he got older, Mark noticed subtle changes—his swing didn’t have the same pop, his hips felt tight by the 16th hole, and fatigue sometimes crept in earlier than it used to.
That’s when he realized: if he wanted to keep improving his game and enjoy golf for the long haul, he needed more than just time on the simulator. He needed strength, stability, and mobility training.
So, Mark turned to HOIST Fitness to help build a personal training space that wasn’t just a gym—it was a golf performance hub.
Building the Foundation for a Stronger Swing
The golf swing is a beautiful but demanding movement. It requires force from the ground up, rotation through the hips and core, and stability through the shoulders and spine. When one link is weak, the whole chain suffers.
Mark and the HOIST team designed his space with that in mind, blending equipment that would strengthen his body for every part of the swing.
The Install: Precision Meets Performance
Leg Press (CL-3403) & Standing/Prone Leg Curl (CL-3408)
Mark’s training begins with his lower body—the engine of the swing. On the Leg Press, he works his glutes and quads to generate powerful drive off the ground. The Standing/Prone Leg Curl hones his hamstrings, which stabilize his hips and help him stay balanced through impact. “It feels like I’m building the base of my swing here,” he says.
Performance Series Functional Training System (EZG Configuration)
The smooth resistance and Silent Steel® weight stack give him confidence to push hard without distraction.
Olympic Lifting & Stall Bar Stations
Golf may look like finesse, but Mark knows strength matters. With the Olympic station, he squats and presses to build full-body stability. At the Stall Bars, he stretches tight shoulders, works balance, and powers through explosive wall ball slams—an exercise that translates directly to the hip-and-core drive of his downswing.
Bulgarian Squat Component
One of Mark’s favorite tools, the Bulgarian Squat attachment, challenges his balance with split squats. “Golf is all about staying grounded on one leg at a time,” he explains. Training this way sharpens his hip stability and knee control for a smoother swing plane.
CF-3160 Commercial Flat/Incline Bench & Accessory Storage
From incline presses to dumbbell core work, the adjustable bench rounds out his program. His space stays clean with integrated storage for HOIST-branded weights, kettlebells, and slam balls, making it easy to flow from exercise to exercise.
The Payoff on the Course
After weeks of training, Mark felt the difference. His drives carried farther. His body held strong through 18 holes without the nagging hip and back tightness he used to feel. Most importantly, he had confidence—not just in his swing, but in knowing he could keep playing the game he loved for years to come.
“Golf isn’t just about skill—it’s about keeping your body ready for it,” Mark says. “This setup from HOIST gave me the tools to do exactly that.”
More Than a Gym—A Golf Investment
What started as a simple idea—to complement his golf simulator—became a transformative training space built for performance and longevity. With HOIST’s thoughtful design, Mark now has a place where fitness meets golf, helping him hit harder, play longer, and enjoy the game more fully.
Whether you’re a weekend golfer or chasing your best round, HOIST can help design a training environment that strengthens your swing and supports your game for the long run.
